If you could rewrite any book’s ending, which one would you choose?

If I could rewrite any book’s ending, it would unquestionably be “As Good as Dead,” the final installment of the “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” series. I absolutely loved the first two books, but the third book completely shocked me. It shattered the moral compass that the series had so carefully established by the end of the first novel. To me, the conclusion felt less like a natural progression and more like a desperate attempt for shock value. I can acknowledge that the ending finally gave a literal understanding to the title of the first book. Despite that clever tie-in, it just did not sit right with me. As a reader who values meticulously crafted plots, I felt that was simply not the ending the story deserved.
